Runner-Up Spot for Sharpe at Silverstone – Round 11

Runner-Up Spot for Sharpe at Silverstone – Round 11After finishing the qualifying session with the fastest Porsche Adam Sharpe and Dominic Lesniewski knew they had a chance of a podium finish. Lesniewski put in a strong start to the race, battling it out at the front with Gavan Kershaw’s Lotus and the DRM and Damax Ferraris.

The second half of the race saw Sharpe collect the car in sixth from Lesniewski and some excellent overtaking ensued to see Sharpe gain 2nd place and lapping considerably quicker than the first place pace of Ni Amorim’s DRM Ferrari. A win was possible if he could just maintain the edge, but Amorim managed to put in a lap that was just a few hundredths slower than Sharpe’s pace to secure his win.

Commenting on the race, Sharpe reported “I’m happy with our runner-up spot as a lot happened during the race – I’m glad I was able to fight my way through the grid. Naturally it would have been nice to win, but 2nd spot won’t do my overall standing any harm.”
